Around 20 bags is a 2 yard load; 40 to 50 is a 4 yard; 60 to 70 is a 6 yard. Simple.
Stack the bags somewhere reachable and the crew can collect without you home.
If the load comes in smaller than booked, you pay the smaller inc-VAT price.
A missed council collection is the most common reason to call: a fortnight of bags stacked in the yard, foxes and gulls taking an interest, and no room in the bin. A one-off black bag collection clears the backlog in a single visit, and we aim to collect within 48 hours of booking.
Moving out is the second. Tenants leaving a Swansea student house at the end of term, landlords turning a property round between lets and families emptying cupboards before a sale all end up with more bags than any bin will take. Holiday lets between guests, and the morning after a big party, produce the same problem on a smaller scale.
Whatever the reason, the pricing is the same: count the bags, match them to a load size, and the inc-VAT price is known before you pick up the phone.
If you are looking for the day the council takes your black bags, that information is published by Neath Port Talbot Council for the county borough and by Swansea Council for Swansea addresses. Look up your street on the council website, where the recycling calendar and the rules on side waste are also set out.
Where the council round is not enough, or the bags have been left behind, we offer the private alternative. It is a paid service, priced by the load, and it runs on a day agreed with you rather than on the council schedule. As a registered waste carrier with Natural Resources Wales we take the bags to a licensed facility and can provide a waste transfer note on request.
General household waste, kitchen waste, bagged garden trimmings, bagged office waste and small loose oddments all travel on a black bag collection, with flattened cardboard loaded alongside. Bags can be any make or colour as long as they hold together; split or leaking bags should be double-bagged before the crew arrives.
Liquids, batteries, paint tins, fluorescent tubes and gas cylinders must not go in the bags, because each needs a special route rather than a mixed load. Fridges, freezers, mattresses and upholstered seating are collected too, but as their own items at the listed prices, since they travel separately from bagged waste by law or by the requirements of the disposal facility.
