Furniture, metals and textiles are separated for recycling; the rest goes to a licensed disposal facility.
Every house clearance is priced by the volume it fills on the van, using the same ladder as every other collection. A 2 yard load, roughly a 4x4 boot full, is £50. A 6 yard load is £110, a 10 yard load is £170 and a 14 yard load, which is about the contents of a small flat or house, is £220. Every figure includes VAT and there are no hidden extras for labour or fuel.
To quote, the office asks for a short description of the rooms involved and, where possible, a few photos. That is usually enough to place the job on the ladder and give you a confirmed inc-VAT price before anyone lifts a thing. If the load comes in smaller than booked, you pay the smaller price. Fridges, freezers and TVs carry their own listed charges because they travel a separate route, and the office will say so when quoting.
Full price tiers are set out on the pricing page. If a property is larger than one van, the office plans the visits in advance so that the total is agreed before the first one.
Hoarded homes need patience more than anything. Our crew works room by room, keeps a clear path to the door and checks with you before anything of possible sentimental or financial value goes on the van. Several visits are sometimes kinder than one, and the office will plan them around you rather than the other way round.
End of tenancy clearances run to a date. Landlords, letting agents and students leaving Swansea houses at the end of term all need a property empty by a fixed day, so we work to completion dates and can take key rooms first when the schedule is tight. Bagged rubbish, leftover furniture and the contents of cupboards and sheds all go on the same load.
Bereavement and probate clearances are handled through our separate bereavement house clearance service, where the pace is gentler and time is set aside for personal papers and keepsakes.
Loads are sorted as they are loaded. Furniture in good condition, metals and textiles are separated for reuse and recycling; what remains goes to a licensed disposal facility. Upholstered seating such as sofas and armchairs travels separately, as environmental rules require, and fridges and freezers are sent to an approved authorised treatment facility where the refrigerant gases are removed safely.
As a registered waste carrier with Natural Resources Wales we can provide a waste transfer note for the collection, which matters if you are clearing a property on behalf of an estate, a landlord or a housing association. Ask the office and the paperwork is sent with the invoice.
