A 3 seater sofa, sofa bed or corner sofa counts as two items. Additional bulky items are £10 each during booking.
Mixed loads are the point of the service; the crew sorts recycling out as they load.
Mattresses, fridges, TVs and tyres ride along as listed extras, because their disposal routes genuinely differ. Hazardous waste like asbestos, paint and liquids cannot travel; the office will point you to the right route. If you were about to book a van and do the run to the tip yourself, this is the same job with the loading and the paperwork done for you.

A few items carry a small listed fee alongside a load because they cannot go through the same door as mixed waste. Mattresses are collected separately and go to a dedicated route. Fridges and freezers are sent to an approved authorised treatment facility where the refrigerant gases are removed safely. TVs and monitors are electrical waste and tyres are banned from landfill, so each has its own onward path.
Upholstered seating such as sofas, armchairs and dining chairs must travel separately under the rules on persistent organic pollutants, which is why a sofa is a man and van job and never a skip job. A 3 seater sofa, sofa bed or corner sofa counts as two items on the ladder.
A man with a van suits jobs where you would rather not lift, where there is nowhere to put a skip, or where the load is a mix of items with different disposal routes. The crew carries from inside the property, sorts as they load and the price is fixed by the ladder before anyone arrives.
A skip suits a steady building project where waste builds up over days and you are happy to load it yourself, and a skip bag suits a small DIY job on a drive. If you are unsure, describe the job on the enquiry and the office will say honestly which route comes out cheaper.
The vans run from our yard at Jersey Marine, which sits on the A483 between Neath, Port Talbot and Swansea, so those three towns and everything between them are on the daily rounds. Bridgend, the Swansea and Neath valleys and the coast to Porthcawl and Mumbles are covered on regular rounds too.
We are not the council. Neath Port Talbot Council runs a kerbside bulky items collection at £29.50 for up to seven items, booked and paid online, with items left at the kerb the night before; it does not take garden waste, sheds, fence panels, bagged rubbish or building waste, and it is not available to landlords or for house clearances. Swansea Council charges £24 for one to three items and £48 for four to six, and Bridgend County Borough Council £36.12 for up to three items then £6.78 each. A private collection is different in kind: the crew carries from wherever the waste sits, inside or out, takes any mix of items, bags and garden waste in the same load, and we aim to collect within 48 hours of booking.
