We provide man and van rubbish removal from £25 inc VAT, skip hire, skip bags and wheelie bin hire across Neath Port Talbot, from Neath town centre and Melincryddan out to Bryncoch, Cimla and Tonna. Our yard at Jersey Marine is about 9 minutes from the town centre, and we are a registered waste carrier with Natural Resources Wales.
Neath is our home county town. Man and van rubbish removal is the service most Neath homes book. Two of us arrive, load whatever you need gone from the house, garden or garage, sweep up and take it away. Skip hire suits longer projects with room on a drive; skip bags fill the gap on streets where a skip will not fit; wheelie bin hire serves shops, cafes and units that need a regular collection. House clearances and commercial work are quoted separately, and we aim to collect within 48 hours of booking.
We supply 4, 6 and 8 yard skips across Neath Port Talbot. A 4 yard skip, the one customers call a mini skip, holds roughly 40 to 50 bin bags and suits a small garden tidy or a single-room refit. A 6 yard skip holds 60 to 70 bin bags and is the size most people hire for a bathroom or kitchen strip-out. An 8 yard builders skip takes 70 to 80 bin bags of bulkier renovation waste. Skips are quoted to the job, and the quote covers delivery, collection and disposal.
If the skip has to sit on the public road rather than a drive, Neath Port Talbot Council issues the permit. The current fee is £59, the permit is valid for 28 days, and applications are typically processed within three to five working days, so please allow for that when you plan the job. No permit is needed on a private drive or forecourt. Hillside homes in Cimla and Bryncoch and the newer estates in Tonna and Coed Darcy usually have a drive to use; the older terraces around the town centre and Melincryddan often do not, which is where a skip bag or a man and van collection tends to work out simpler.
Our man and van rubbish removal is priced by the load, and every price includes VAT and the labour. A mattress on its own is £25, a single item such as a small sofa or an appliance is £40 and a fridge or fridge freezer is £40. From there the loads run from a 2 yard load at £50, roughly a large car boot full, up to a 14 yard load at £220, which is a small house or flat clearance. The most booked size is the 6 yard load at £110, about the same volume as a midi skip.
Neath Port Talbot Council runs a bulky items collection at £29.50 for up to seven items, booked and paid in advance, with collections between 6am and 2pm from the kerbside only. It is a fair service for a few pieces of furniture, but the council does not offer it for house clearances, building waste, landlords or businesses, and it will not take garden waste, sheds, fence panels, rubble, doors, baths or bags of general rubbish. Those are exactly the jobs Neath residents ring us about, and we collect from inside the property, not just the kerb.
We are often described as a man with a van, and that is true of the smaller loads; for bigger clearances we send a larger tipper and two people. Either way you get a waste transfer note if you want one, and the waste leaves with a registered carrier.
A skip bag, sometimes called a Hippo bag (a trademark), is a heavy woven bag we deliver flat, you fill at your own pace, and we collect with the van. Our small skip bag is £65 inc VAT and the medium is £95 inc VAT, both including collection and disposal. No council permit is needed because the bag sits on your own property, and a filled bag fits on a short drive, a front garden or a rear yard.
Neath has more than 6,000 terraced houses, many of them Victorian two-up two-downs in Melincryddan, Llantwit and the streets off the town centre, with rear lanes and no drive. A skip on the road there means a £59 permit and a lost parking space; a skip bag needs neither. We also place bags on the drives of Bryncoch and Cimla semis for people who want to clear a garage or garden over a couple of weekends rather than in one go.
The nearest household waste recycling centre to Neath is Briton Ferry Recycling Centre on Briton Ferry Industrial Estate, SA11 2HZ. It opens 8.30am to 5pm seven days a week, closed on Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year's Day, and a booking is mandatory: you must reserve a slot before you visit. Vans, pick-ups and double-axle trailers need a permit, issued automatically when you book, and residents are limited to 12 permits a year. Tipper vans, flatbeds and large 7.5 tonne vans are not allowed on site, and trade waste is not accepted.
Householders can tip up to three sacks of building-type waste a week for free; beyond that the weighbridge charges by the tonne, with plasterboard the dearest, and payment is by card only. The Cymmer Recycling Centre on Margam Street, SA13 3EE, opens 11am to 5pm daily and is the fallback for the Afan Valley side of the county. Neath Port Talbot Council also restricts excess black-bag waste beside the wheelie bin; check the council website for the current allowance.
For one car boot of garden cuttings a tip run makes sense. For a shed, a bathroom suite, a garage of accumulated furniture or anything that would take three trips, one booked collection from us is usually quicker and costs less in fuel, permits and Saturday mornings.
Neath has around 6,245 terraced houses, roughly 4,360 of them owner-occupied and over 1,000 privately rented. There are about 131 licensed houses in multiple occupation across Neath Port Talbot and more than half of them are in Neath, mostly converted older terraces near the town centre. That mix drives a steady flow of end-of-tenancy clearances, landlord turnarounds and bereavement clearances for us.
