We bring skip hire, skip bags and man and van rubbish removal from £25 inc VAT to Bridgend, Brackla, Pencoed and the surrounding county, about 27 minutes down the M4 from our yard at Jersey Marine. Vale Waste Neath is a family-run registered waste carrier and every collection leaves with a waste transfer note.
Bridgend is the largest town we serve east of Port Talbot, and we cover it with the same four services we run at home in Neath: man and van rubbish removal from £25 inc VAT, 4, 6 and 8 yard skip hire, skip bags from £65 inc VAT and wheelie bin hire for businesses. Whether it is a single sofa from a Brackla semi or a full house clearance in Litchard, the same team quotes, collects and disposes of it.
Every job is carried out by Vale Waste Neath, a registered waste carrier with Natural Resources Wales, and you receive a waste transfer note so your duty of care is covered. Prices include VAT and we aim to collect within 48 hours of booking, with Bridgend reached on a run down the M4 from Jersey Marine.
Skip hire in Bridgend is the most searched waste service in the county, and we deliver three sizes. A 4 yard mini skip holds roughly 40 to 50 bin bags and suits a bathroom rip-out or a garden tidy. A 6 yard midi skip, our most hired size, takes 60 to 70 bin bags and covers a kitchen refit or a garage clear-out. An 8 yard builders skip holds 70 to 80 bin bags for bigger renovations and trade work. Skip prices are quoted on request, so tell us the size and where it will sit and we confirm a figure before you book.
If the skip goes on a private drive, as it can on most plots in Broadlands or Parc Derwen, no permit is needed. If it has to sit on the public road, Bridgend County Borough Council issues the permit and charges about £42 a month, with lamps and cones required around the skip; check the council website for the current fee. We arrange the permit with you as part of the booking.
On the narrower terraced streets around the town centre and Oldcastle, a skip bag or a man and van collection is often the easier choice, because there is nowhere to stand a skip without taking a parking space.
Our man and van rubbish removal is priced by the load, so you pay for what leaves the property and nothing more. A single item is £40, two items are £50 and a mattress on its own is £25. Van loads start at a 2 yard load for £50, about 20 bin bags, rise through a 4 yard load at £80 and our most booked 6 yard load at £110, and go up to a 14 yard load at £220 for a small house or flat clearance. A fridge or fridge freezer is £40. Every price includes VAT.
Bridgend County Borough Council runs its own bulky waste collection at £36.12 for up to three items and £6.78 for each extra item up to fifteen, but it is a kerbside service for householders only, the contractor sets the date, and landlords and businesses are not eligible. We lift from inside the house or flat, we take mixed loads and bags of rubbish that the council will not, and we work for landlords, letting agents and businesses as readily as for homeowners.

A skip bag, sometimes called a Hippo bag (a trademark), is the middle option between a bin bag and a skip. We supply a small bag for £65 inc VAT and a medium bag for £95 inc VAT, both prices including collection. You fill it at your own pace and we send the van to lift it away, with no road permit and no delivery lorry.
Bags suit the parts of Bridgend where a skip is awkward: the Victorian and Edwardian terraces in Oldcastle and around the town centre that have little or no off-street parking, and the smaller front gardens in Cefn Glas and Bryntirion. Provided the bag sits on a drive, a front garden or private land where the van can reach it, it works. Bags are for general household and DIY waste; heavy rubble and soil are better in a skip.
Bridgend County Borough Council collects household refuse fortnightly with a limit of two bags per fortnight, each no larger than 60 litres, and garden waste, rubble, builders' waste, paint and electrical items are not accepted in refuse bags at all. When a clear-out produces more than that, the surplus has to go to a recycling centre or to a private collection.
The council runs three community recycling centres. The nearest to Bridgend town is Brynmenyn, on Brynmenyn Industrial Estate CF32 9SZ, closed on Wednesdays, and it does not admit vans or trailers at all. Pyle, at 40b Sturmi Way on Village Farm Industrial Estate CF33 6BZ, is open 8.30am to 7pm on Monday and Wednesday to Friday and 8.30am to 5pm at weekends, closed on Tuesdays; it replaced the old Tythegston site in March 2024. Maesteg, on Heol Ty Gwyn Industrial Estate CF34 0BQ, is closed on Thursdays. Vans and pick-ups need a free tipping permit for Pyle and Maesteg, booked at least 48 hours ahead on 01656 643643, and trailers longer than 6ft cannot use any of the sites.
If you have no suitable vehicle, no permit or no free afternoon, we do the tip run for you. The load goes in our van, it is sorted at a licensed transfer station, and the waste transfer note stays with you.
Bridgend's housing varies street by street, and so does the job. Litchard and Cefn Glas are largely mid-century semis and bungalows, where we are most often asked for probate and downsizing clearances with a shed or garage thrown in. Brackla is a large planned estate from the 1980s onwards with a sizeable rental market, so end-of-tenancy clearances for landlords and agents are common there. Broadlands and Parc Derwen at Coity, the 1,500-home village begun in 2011, bring garden landscaping waste, packaging and fitted furniture swaps.
Wildmill, the high-density estate north of the centre, is where flats and maisonettes with stairs and no space for a skip make a two-person van the only practical option. We carry sofas, mattresses and white goods down from upper floors and load them straight into the van. House clearances are itemised before we start and we set aside anything that can be reused.
Bridgend Industrial Estate, on the former Waterton Arsenal, offers an estimated 3 million square feet of commercial space across roughly 300 acres, and with Waterton's retail and trade area on the A473, the Designer Outlet at The Derwen by junction 36 and the Brynmenyn estates it makes Bridgend a busy commercial patch. We provide one-off unit, office and shop clearances, and 240 litre, 660 litre and 1100 litre wheelie bins with scheduled collections.
Business waste is trade waste, which the council's bulky service excludes, so a registered carrier is the compliant route. We issue a waste transfer note for every collection and keep the paperwork you need for your duty of care.
We cover the whole of Bridgend and CF31, reached from junction 36 at Sarn for the town and Brackla or junction 35 at Pencoed for the east side and Waterton. Bridgend is 18.9 miles and about 27 minutes from our yard at Jersey Marine on a clear run, so it fits comfortably into our normal rounds.
