We provide 4, 6 and 8 yard skip hire, skip bags, wheelie bins and man and van rubbish removal from £25 inc VAT across Glynneath and the top of the Vale of Neath, about 20 minutes up the A465 from our yard at Jersey Marine. Vale Waste Neath is a registered waste carrier with Natural Resources Wales, and we aim to collect within 48 hours of booking.
Glynneath, Glyn-nedd in Welsh, is a town and community in the county borough of Neath Port Talbot at the head of the Vale of Neath, in the SA11 postcode with the 01639 dialling code. We work the whole town from the High Street and Bethel Road terraces to the Morfa Glas estate, and out to Cwmgwrach, Blaengwrach, Pontneddfechan, Rheola, Aberpergwm and Pont-walby.
Skip hire is what most people in Glynneath search for, and we deliver 4, 6 and 8 yard skips to drives and, with a Neath Port Talbot Council permit, to the road. Man and van rubbish removal starts at £25 inc VAT for a single mattress and goes up to a full house clearance, with our own crew doing the carrying. Skip bags cover the terraces where a skip will not fit, and wheelie bin hire in 240, 660 and 1100 litre sizes serves shops and units on the High Street and the business park.

We hire three sizes up the valley. A 4 yard skip holds roughly 40 to 50 bin bags and suits a small clearance, a garden project or a terrace with tight access. A 6 yard skip takes 60 to 70 bin bags and is our most hired size for a bathroom or kitchen refit. An 8 yard skip holds 70 to 80 bin bags for bigger renovations, bulky waste and builders' work. Skips are quoted with delivery, collection and disposal included, so ask us for a price.
Many of the older terraces along the valley floor and around the High Street have no drive, so the skip has to sit on the road. A skip on the public highway in Glynneath needs a permit from Neath Port Talbot Council, currently £59 for 28 days, and applications are typically processed within three to five working days. A skip on your own drive or land needs no permit. We advise on cost and timing when we confirm your hire.
Plasterboard must be kept separate from a mixed skip, upholstered seating such as sofas and armchairs travels by van, and fridges, tyres, paint and gas bottles are excluded. If your load is mostly those items, a man and van collection is the right service.
Our load ladder is printed in full and every figure includes VAT. A single item such as a small sofa or appliance is £40, two items are £50, a mattress on its own is £25 and a fridge on its own is £40. Volume loads start at a 2 yard load for £50, about 20 bin bags, and rise through the 6 yard load at £110 to a 14 yard load at £220, which is a small house or flat clearance. If the load is smaller on the day, you pay the smaller figure.
Neath Port Talbot Council's bulky items collection costs £29.50 for up to 7 items, booked and paid online in advance, with collections from 6am to 2pm and the items left at the front of the property the night before. The crews do not enter the property, and the service cannot be used for house clearances, building waste, garden waste, sheds, fence panels, bagged rubbish, baths, toilets, doors or windows, and is not offered to landlords. That list is most of what a man with a van call-out is for.
Two of us carry from inside the house, the loft, the garage or the garden, load the van and sweep up. Mixed loads are welcome: a wardrobe, a bath, a few bags of rubble and a heap of hedge cuttings can all go in one visit with a waste transfer note for your records.
A skip bag, sometimes called a Hippo bag (a trademark), suits the terraced streets off the High Street, Bethel Road and the valley floor where a skip would need a permit and take a parking space for a month. Our small skip bag is £65 inc VAT and takes a small declutter or DIY project, roughly a single armchair in volume. The medium skip bag is £95 inc VAT and suits a small bathroom rip-out or a garage declutter. Both prices include delivery, collection and disposal.
Bags also work well on the rural plots at Rheola, Pont-walby, Pentreclwydau and Aberpergwm, where the access track is too narrow or too soft for a skip lorry but a van can get close enough to lift a full bag. Fill it at your own pace and tell us when it is ready.
Bags follow the same exclusions as skips: no plasterboard in with mixed waste, no upholstered seating, no fridges, tyres or liquids. Ask us about those items separately and we will price them on the ladder.
Neath Port Talbot Council collects refuse fortnightly in Glynneath, with a limit of one wheeled bin or 3 black bags per fortnight, and side waste left beside the bin is not collected. Recycling is collected weekly with no limit. After a clear-out the black bag limit is reached in one go, and the council's bulky service will not take bagged rubbish.
Neath Port Talbot's nearest recycling centre to Glynneath is Briton Ferry Recycling Centre on Briton Ferry Industrial Estate, SA11 2HZ, open 8.30am to 5pm seven days a week. A slot must be booked before every visit. Vans, pick-ups and double-axle trailers need a permit, limited to 12 a year, and tipper vans, flatbeds and large 7.5 tonne vans are not allowed on site. Payment is card only. The council's other sites are Cymmer Recycling Centre, Margam Street, SA13 3EE, open 11am to 5pm, and Lower Cwmtwrch in Powys, booked through Powys with proof of address.
From Glynneath that is a long tip run down the A465 with a booked slot at the end of it, and rubble, soil and plasterboard are charged by the tonne at the weighbridge. A collection from us saves the round trip, the permit count and the lifting, and because we are a registered waste carrier the duty of care for that waste is covered.
Glynneath has been a working town since coal was first dug here in 1793, and the Neath Canal reached it earlier still, in 1775, with its remains still visible. The housing reflects that history: a mix of Victorian stone and brick terraces along the valley floor and the High Street, post-war estates such as Morfa Glas, newer builds on the edge of town, and farms and hamlets at Pont-walby, Pentreclwydau, Aberpergwm and Rheola, where Rheola House by John Nash still stands.
The terraces give us loft, cellar and garage clear-outs with narrow access and no drive. The estates give us full and part house clearances when a home is emptied for sale or a tenancy ends. The rural plots and the properties up towards Glynneath Golf Club and Pontneddfechan give us the serious garden work: overgrown hedges, felled trees, collapsed sheds and fence lines that the council bulky service will not touch. Whole house clearances are quoted from photographs and cleared in one or two visits. Furniture in good condition is set aside for reuse where we can, and everything else goes to licensed disposal facilities with a waste transfer note for the file.
Glynneath's High Street runs from the Crown end up to Bethel Road with a Co-op, a post office, a chemist, a dental practice, a GP surgery and cafes along the way, and Glynneath Business Park sits at its upper end. We supply 240, 660 and 1100 litre wheelie bins with weekly, fortnightly or monthly collections, and we clear cardboard, packaging and refit waste as one-off jobs timed around trading hours.
Trade units along the B4242 and builders working on the new housing plots around the town produce skip loads of rubble, timber and packaging. We deliver skips to site, swap them when full and provide the waste transfer notes your duty of care records require. Plasterboard goes in its own skip or bag so it can be disposed of correctly.
Businesses in Wales must now separate paper and card, glass, metal, plastic and cartons, and food waste for collection. We can set up a bin for each stream so the shop or the site stays on the right side of the rules.

Resolven itself is about 13 minutes from us, Crynant in the Dulais Valley about 13, and Neath town centre about 9.
